I have returned.

Apologies for my extended absence, I had to deal with a long period of unemployment.

Which actually brings me to today's topic:

Did you know that this year, American companies created less than one million jobs in The United States. Interestingly enough, they creates over 1.5 million jobs in other countries. If you wanna know why most of us can't find work, now you know. I'm not one to generally adopt the "They're takin' our jobs" mentality...but dammit, how are us people on the bottom of the ladder supposed to survive.

Obligatory:

So here's a theory.

A few years back, when 9/11 occurred, it was used as a catalyst to put several laws into play that never would have stood a chance at passing in the first place. Laws that allow law enforcement to arrest, search, wiretap, and detain you (among other fun things) without a proper warrant. This was called The Patriot Act and it was only meant to last for a year or two, and was supposedly instated to help flush out potential terrorists. The law is still in effect today, approx 9 years after it was passed. I'm not going to start the inside job argument here, you can believe what you will as far as that goes, but I will say that this was a very large and complex bill and I highly doubt that somebody didn't have this puppy sitting in their filing cabinet somewhere waiting for the right opportunity to get it passed way before the incident that acted as its catalyst.

I bring this up because we're now looking at an interesting situation right here on the internet. The cablegate document leak has the media and world governments abuzz and obviously steps are going to be taken to prevent such incidents in the future. I find it rather odd that this incident fell so close to the congressional debates over bills like COICA which allows drastic censorship of the internet at the whim of the US government.

Now, I see a lot of drama regarding Julian Assange, but I've seen very little in the way of trying to find his source, which makes me wonder. Given that, in all honesty, the documents in question aren't really all that damaging: Would it be so much of a stretch to believe that these were intentionally leaked to cause all this buzz. I think congress will have a far easier time getting an internet censorship bill through now, especially with the massive violent backlash many hacker organizations are bringing in retaliation for Assange's arrest. Many people have feared a "cyber-9/11", but maybe it won't even be anything that drastic that draws the curtain on net-neutrality.

Also, I'm sure getting rid of a particularly annoying fly like Wikileaks would be a wonderful added bonus to the people who want secrets kept.

So, for those of you in the tl;dr crowd, brace yourselves...I have a feeling that the proverbial shitstorm is gathering strength, or maybe (hopefully) I'm just over thinking things.

Is it just me...

...or is all hell breaking loose lately. There's a mess with Korea (which could easily turn into a mess with China if not dealt with very carefully), the republican party refusing to let any bills pass unless a tax break for the wealthy is voted on, and this Wikileaks fiasco that proves that Interpol can invent charges to bring you in when they feel you've crossed a line that hasn't been defined (which is something I'm quite surprised that more people aren't outraged over).

Grab a helmet and strap in boys and girls, I think we're in for quite a ride.

What a coincidence...

Suddenly Julian Assange is wanted by Interpol for "sex crimes"

What a crazy happenstance that is.

Why we're doomed

Ever wonder why nothing ever gets accomplished in our government?

Right now the repubs and the dems are so busy fighting with each other like little kids just because their on opposing teams rather than true disagreement with the issues at hand and don't even get me started on the Tea Party bullshit (that's another article altogether).

The people we vote for and support, the people we believe in every election year, the people who's paychecks we might as well be signing ourselves aren't doing their jobs at all and instead are bickering amongst each other.

If this were you or me, we'd be fired without ceremony.

I suppose the moral of this is that you should stand for what you believe in morally and work towards the greater good , but there really isn't much left in the way of morals in our capitol. Personal interests, power, and the almighty dollar (which ironically, isn't all that mighty these days) are the only things driving these assholes.

Welcome to America...One Nation Under Them.

A few weeks back I mentioned the COICA bill that I referred to as being worse than ACTA. Well, they're getting ready to start voting on it. This is the start of censorship on a huge scale and if you think they'll stop at copyright infringes, I envy your naivety.

A Petition is here, though I would also recommend contacting your congressmen directly and letting them know that you won't stand for something like this. This is supposed to be a free country...let's try and get back to that.

Vet's Day

Taking a moment out of my day as we all should today to remember those who have fought and died for this country. No matter what you may think of where we are today, there's no denying that we would me much worse off without the sacrifices our military veterans have made throughout the years.

Thank you all for all that you have done.

Christine O'Donnell (No punchline needed)

Any moron can be politically successful in this country. We should all start running for offices.

Pride

I usually don't do more than one post in a day, but this got me. This shit has needed to be said for quite some time. Preach on, Bro:

Today, we discuss this guy

Why is America still taking this complete moron seriously. The things that come out of his mouth don't even vaguely resemble the truth. He's racist, sexist, a fearmonger, and completely insane. The only intent behind any of his reports or causes seems to be to stir as much controversy as possible to further his own fame.
THIS MAN DOES NOT HAVE AMERICAN INTERESTS IN MIND. HE WANTS FAME AND HE WILL DO ANYTHING AT ANYONE'S EXPENSE TO GET IT.

In closing, a laugh at his expense :)

Obama

Does it bother anyone else that with all the crap going on in the world right now, most of the populace of the US cannot get over the debate over whether our president is a Muslim (which he's not) and was born in the US (which he was). It seems that every day at least one major news medium has a story proving, disproving, refuting, or correcting one of these questions.

So...putting it lightly...WHO GIVES A FUCK?

To be completely honest, he doesn't have all that much power because of the Repubs (and even some of his own party)working against him and with the mess left by the jackass that preceded him none of our problems are going to get fixed overnight or easily. In other words, blame the whole machine...its all broken.

tl;dr There are way more important things in your life to worry about than the president's lineage/religion. Neither of these should matter in a cultural melting pot founded on freedom of religious choice, anyway.

Think ACTA is bad?

Then check this puppy out:
http://www.zdnet.com.au/domain-seizing-bill-worse-than-acta-339306277.htm

And you know what, it'll pass. People will complain, protest, email congressmen, demonstrate, and who knows what else...and it will still pass.

Democracy is a joke and freedom is a LIE.
Any way they can find to take it away from you, they will. Unfortunately with piracy being what it is its not a problem to pass a law like this and even if there were difficulty, they'll wave the "combating terrorism" flag about and the sheep will jump onboard singing laments of 9/11.

They're doing their damnedest to take your freedom away. Freedom that this country was FOUNDED on, but we haven't had in a long, LOOOOOOONG time. Freedom that is your fucking RIGHT as a living creature.

A change is necessary and unless we all stand up and say "Bullshit!" in one voice, things will keep going just as they are and we'll never be any more than the slaves we continue to be day after day.

So, in closing, to quote something of our pop culture that rings very true:
A man chooses, A slave obeys.
Which, I ask, are you?

Its so easy...

...to turn a blind eye to things that are right in front of you when they disturb you. I envy those that can, as I simply cannot do it anymore. The reality of it all is right there, just under the crap we're fed everyday and everyone just goes about their business like its all fine. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

An uncomfortable thought

A known technique used in breaking prisoners in some countries entails forcing them to frequently change their sleeping schedules as well as often changing their day to day routine for no reason in order to keep them off balance and controllable.  If their tired and confused, they can't put up much of a fight and are more likely to submit and just do what their told.

Odd, sounds like some of the retail jobs I've worked before.

The $80,000 lottery ticket

How many of you are confident and able to work at a job you would genuinely enjoy and are being held back by your lack of a piece of paper that says that you're confident and able.
College degrees are the only way anyone can get a decent career these days and even taking the time and putting forth the immense expense it takes to acquire one in no way guarantees you'll ever put it to use.
If you're already rich or come from a rich family that can front the bill, this is no big deal.  To normal folks like you and me though, we pay for it for a loooong time to follow, and that's whether we actually put it to use or not (The days, not seems to be the more common of the two).

When was the last time you paid $80,000+ for something that you didn't know if you would ever even be able to  use?

Apologies

Sorry for my sudden extended absence, some sever weather left me without power for a few days.  All should be going smoothly again, now.

Don't take my word for it...

The country is full of people like Glen Beck or Rush Limbaugh who make a business of scaring you.  For the longest time people like them were dismissed as quacks.  The internet has sadly given a voice to them and their ilk.  The mainstream media has noticed the capital to be gained from marketing them and is more than happy to take advantage.
After all, what's wrong with a bit of misleading if there's money to be made?  No one will believe any of the stuff they spout anyway, right?

*cough*teaparties*cough*

How can an eagle fly...

...if both the right and left wings are broken?

Its so easy to put blame on the figureheads that the media tell us are at fault but you are only seeing part of the picture.  Nearly everything that happens within our government happens for the better of an individual or a special interest.  They no longer have our best interests in mind and have not for a long, long time.

As long as they can point a finger at someone and tell you that things are bad because of them, the better part of society will not see the bigger picture.

This is how it begins...

Welcome to all who have stumbled upon this little hole in the web.  What you will find here in the coming days are the observations of a madman.  Society truly could not be what I claim it to be and if you take any of this seriously you are likely just as insane as I.

Welcome and enjoy
